SANITATION WORKER NEEDED FOR OUR MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN LONG ISLAND CITY, NY.

Bilingual - English/Spanish

*Open to O/T hours*

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces and equipment
• Disassemble and clean processing equipment using chemicals by hand scrubbing and using tools without causing damage and maintaining organization of multiple parts.
• Visually inspect the equipment and processing areas for cleanliness
• Gather, empty trash and routinely recycle cardboard.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors by sweeping & mopping; cleaning of mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen, dishwashing areas, warehouse, cafeteria, outdoors etc.
• Clean and supply restrooms.
• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares, etc.
• Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and/or power equipment in addition to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Additional duties assigned by Sanitation Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish).
• Required to stand, walk, reach above shoulder height; climb or balance and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Required to climb up and down ladders.
• Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
