Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Scheduling and Nursing Support Manager to join our [Insert Community Site Name] team! The Scheduling and Nursing Support Manager is responsible for leading, coaching and guiding a team of nurse aides as well as overseeing the scheduling for all nursing staff. The Scheduling and Nursing Support Manager will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of all nursing supplies. Reliability, organization, excellent scheduling and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, develop, and lead the CNA and CMA roles at the community to provide 5-star quality care and service to the residents and team.
- Provide high level of communication and oversight over the community nursing schedule and ensure shifts are staffed appropriately especially during unpredictable schedule changes that may occur.
- Responsible for scheduling all nursing staff employees, including CNA and CMA roles within budgetary guidelines for the community to ensure 5-star quality of care for the residents and minimum regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure CNA and CMA staff meet resident care and nursing team needs.
- Evaluates the performance of CNA and CMA staff and perform coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Oversees the development of CNA and CMA staff and ensures regulatory and community training is completed in a timely manner.
- Oversee and ensure staff are properly trained on Electronic Health Record software.
- Oversee and ensure that CNA and CMA staff are assisting with making sure meal service goes smoothly for the residents.
- Work with the Director of Nursing (DON) and department heads to interview and hire qualified candidates for CNA and CMA open positions and ensure a complete onboarding and training experience for new hires.
- Review and approve CNA and CMA time sheets and time off requests on a weekly basis to help ensure payroll processing of time is accurate and on time according to payroll schedules.
- Lead orientation and in-service training programs as it relates to the CNA and CMA roles and scheduling for the nursing team.
- Attend and participate in leadership and all team meetings.
- Ensure CNA and CMA staff attend team meetings and trainings when possible.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of and upholds all policies, rules and regulations for the community as well as State and Federal governing agencies.
- Reports to and works with DON on team goals, development, and initiatives.
- Follows and upholds the community's philosophy and goal to maintain, improve and/or enhance each residents quality of care and quality of life.
- Follows safety policies in performing nursing care, assuring resident safety.
- Follows and understands the community's Emergency Preparedness plans.
- Follows infection control guidelines.
- Observes residents rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, etc.
- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
- Work as part of a team to help ensure the Medicare Triple Check process is complete.
Qualifications:
- Certified CNA or CMA with supervisory experience or equivalent.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- One-year experience scheduling in a long-term health care setting preferred.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in navigating the internet in order to use multiple web-based programs.
- Intermediate typing skills.
- Knowledge of office equipment.
- Excellent phone skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Be able to read, write and understand English.
- Organizational skills, for example ability to create strategies and solutions for facilitating work flow.
- Ability to prioritize, initiate and work independently.
