Physical Requirements
The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time and occasional job-related travel. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift
Monday through Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm; with occasional holiday, weekends, and on-call per departmental needs.
Job Summary
The Scope Manager is responsible for supervision of the UKHC enterprise flexible scope reprocessing services. This includes supervision of staff and oversite of scope handling from cleaning, storage and distribution. Specific emphasis on managing service utilization and inventory levels with third party vendor. This position provides education and training support and oversees all quality of all work, is able to problem solve equipment and inventory issues, and works as high functioning member of a team supporting clinics, procedural areas, and operating rooms.
A complete application will include copies of the following certifications attached as Specific Requests 1-3: Certified and Registered Central Services Technician CRCST), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)/Advanced Gastrointestinal Technical Specialist (AGSTS), and optional Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL).
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS ). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID -19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID -19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
