POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for individuals to perform entry level and semi-skilled routine custodial work in the care, maintenance, and improvement of parks, grounds, athletic fields, and cemeteries. Individuals will work in a safe and efficient manner. The Parks Attendant works under the direction of the Parks Supervisor and Parks Superintendent.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
CATEGORY: Part-time/seasonal
HOURS: Up to 40
LEVEL: Entry, Semi-Skilled
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitor and clean trails, sidewalks, parking lots, and other hardscapes; pick up loose trash, cigarettes, spot sweep, remove graffiti and stickers on public property, clean spills, and other messes, and maintain the general cleanliness of all public areas within parks.
Perform custodial duties; empty any trash receptacles that are nearly full or overflowing.
Maintain and prepare areas requiring a high level of daily service including restrooms and parks athletic fields/facilities.
Performs landscape maintenance on athletic fields, garden beds, turf, and other city owned properties.
General maintenance of facilities such as painting, power washing, repairs.
Represent the city when interacting with the public and downtown stakeholders.
OTHER DUTIES: This position may assist with park maintenance and special event operations in other areas of the city. EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
NECESSARY:
- High School/ GED Preferred
- Driver’s License
- Experience in general labor
- Must be 16 years old or older.
DESIRED:
- Experience with athletics
- Knowledge of the local community.
- General landscape maintenance experience.

Pay: $16.77 - $18.45 per hour
