Position Title: Security Officer

Location: Client Site

Reporting to: Security Manager

Site Description

The sites carry out a wide range of projects in support of most aspects of government legislative activity requiring the application of analytical expertise. The buildings are purpose built and contain a varied range of electronic systems for both fabric and occupant protection and safety. The Security Officer would work in all areas of the sites on a wide of duties.

Overall Purpose of the Job

To provide security services on client sites as required in line with client and company procedures, ensuring that all relevant legislation is adhered to at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To carry out general security duties throughout the complex.
• To carry out regular day and nightshift checks on all areas ensuring the buildings, windows, doors and equipment are secure, reporting any untoward events and out of order equipment and faults.
• To lock and alarm the buildings and compounds as instructed and in accordance with regular routines.
• To unlock the buildings as instructed and in accordance with regular routines.
• To react in accordance with security procedure for after hour requests for access and deliveries.
• To manage visitors and contractors that are attending site to ensure that only authorised personnel are permitted access to the site in line with the Security Procedures
• To maintain all security records in full and keep them tidy.
• To control on site parking and assisting in the administration of site activities for conferences etc.
• To monitor temperature monitoring (e.g. Hanwell) systems after hours, weekends and Bank holidays and report any faults and alarms.
• To carry out duties in accordance with the site Security manual.
• To act as a focal point for response to fire and other untoward incidents and emergencies.
• Support emergency services should they need to attend site
• To work according to the assigned security roster
• Provision of First Aid (training to be provided)
• To be flexible to work, support and relieve at other sites related to the Campus
• To be flexible to adapt to the evolving needs of the Campus, our Clients and the Company. The campus is continuously changing and expanding and the Facilities Management team, including Security, need to be flexible to evolve with the needs of the site
• To support the wider Facilities Management Team on Campus as the need arises.

Technical Knowledge

• Awareness of Health & safety issues and the need for safe methods of working.
• Understanding of the law relating to the provision of Security services, e.g Trespass, Powers of arrest etc.

Person Specification

• Must be eligible to work in Ireland
• Able to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly.
• Able to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills

• Flexible
• Must have a valid PSA Licence
• Successful candidate will also be required to consent to 5 year background check, offer is subject to passing background check
