Senior Accountant, VINELAND, NJ

The role will be responsible for assisting with Brady IFS accounting and financial activities for 3 branches. Successful candidates will lead the month end, quarter end and year end close and will help develop & improve processes. You will have a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare/review bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare/review journal entries.
  • Proactively ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with finance department team members to develop the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Improve month end close processes to ensure more efficiency and ease.
  • Aid senior management in forecasting business revenue.
  • Gather information to prepare and analyze profit and loss statements.
  • Prepare and review financial information to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations where needed.
  • Prepare special reports and ad-hoc analyses as requested by management.
  • Company credit card monitoring and administration.
  • Responsible for gathering data to complete monthly and quarterly KPIs.

· Assist in the preparation of company budgets and financial decisions by monitoring performance, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

· Manage federal, state, and local tax and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist with the year-end audit, including preparing supporting documentation and addressing auditors' questions.
  • Approve invoices on a daily basis and work with the Accounts Payable department to ensure proper coding.
  • Update monthly account schedules and ensure records are up to date.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to build efficiencies.

Supervisory Responsibility

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining, performance reviews, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel

This position requires up to 10% of travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field
  • 5 years experience in accounting preferably in a distribution company.
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • High level of integrity
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, communication, and presentation skills

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
