The Senior Architect is a technical (not functional nor solutions) role. It will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions that improve business process efficiencies and accuracy within the Edwards’ Manufacturing Execution System. Our goal is to cultivate an IT SCADA ecosystem that is scalable, extensible, interoperable, adaptable to the business, and aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization.
You will report to the IT Manufacturing SCADA and MES team and will also work closely with the Global Supply Chain organization. You will also advise the business units on industry best practices, processes, and system improvements for manufacturing execution, electronic DHR, and lean line enablement.
Our ideal candidate has hands-on architecture experience, domain expertise, and strong communication skills. This will require some international travel.
Responsibilities:
Lead and/or manage Wonderware SCADA implementation projects with hundreds of users
Lead efforts to optimize/configure the Wonderware System Platform and OMI. This is to re-engineer the shop floor business process to enable an electronic DHR with a lean line perspective.
Identify and define the opportunities, and select tools, for innovation, with a bias towards configuring ready-to-use solutions. This includes specifying the shared data & code resources, defining the interfaces and dataflows, and monitoring the success of the integration into the existing IT environment
Lead training and knowledge transfer sessions that empower users and super-users to leverage IT systems for business process automation and optimization
Serve as peer mentor for junior level system analysts on the team
Serve as liaison between business process owners in IT and Global Supply Chain
Work with stakeholders in developing ROI-based business cases for enhancements and small projects

Provide oversight to ensure compliance with architectural standards and practices through all aspects of planning, execution, and operation
Up to 35% international and domestic travel required
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in STEM
10+ years of experience in IT or software development
5+ years of experience in an architect role, or architect systems, within an enterprise system
2+ years of experience in Manufacturing IT, or Smart Manufacturing
2+ years working on cloud infrastructure components (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Strong Windows machines and network management skill
Experience with integrating multiple enterprise systems for real-time processing and transactions
Prior experience working in complex global business environment with multi-language requirements
Strong oral and written communications skills, and ability to develop and maintain business/technical documentation, and strong interpersonal, and analytical skills required
Ability to adapt to new technologies and a rapidly changing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Experience working in an FDA regulated industry; and FDA guidelines for Software Quality and Systems Validation
Implementing/configuring/supporting Wonderware SCADA from a functional architect perspective
Lean Six Sigma experience

For California, the base pay range for this position is $123,000 to $174,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
