RecruitmentPlus has a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Automation Engineer who will be part of a global multinational organisation and this role will require international travel. The successful candidate will deliver robust and compliant electrical and software process improvements and support engineering projects throughout the insulated panel division. Reporting to the Global Automation Manger the Senior Automation.

Location: Ideal candidate will be located in North Dublin / Dublin West or Northeast with flexibility to travel.

Qualifications

  • Support engineering projects at any insulated panel sites
  • Support, initiate, deploy and sign off process improvement and efficiency improvement modifications to manufacturing systems at any insulated panel sites
  • To carry out design and testing tasks on project proposals
  • Assist the local site engineering and production department with any major breakdowns or faults at short notice
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • In-depth Knowledge of PLC’s – ideally Siemens S7 300/400/TIA would be beneficial with extensive programming and diagnosis experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working Knowledge of motion control systems – Ideally Siemens Simotion/Sinamics drive or similar motion systems
  • In-depth Knowledge of SCADA and Line reporting systems experience - ideally Rockwell FactoryTalk or Siemens WINCC suites
  • Knowledge of object orientated programming language such as Visual Basic would be advantageous
  • Experience installing, fault finding on and configuring automation networks such as Industrial Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet etc.
  • Experience in the design and installation of electrical control systems
  • Good understanding of GAMP
  • Ability to perform technical electrical calculations and provide accurate schedules, reports, specifications and other information for review/approval by engineering staff
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills with a can do attitude and the ability to work autonomously an absolute must.
  • Ability to use judgment and make decisions in ambiguous and complex situations
  • At ease with extensive European and Global travel

Responsibilities

  • To carry out specific engineering tasks delegated by the Global Automation Manager as appropriate Provide software/electrical engineering discipline input into Global project/design teams executing specific projects on site
  • Design, develop, and upgrade automated systems in line with engineering standards.
  • Produce electrical engineering design and project support deliverables in line with engineering standards
  • Recommend and support value added improvement initiatives where appropriate
  • To work closely with Production, Quality, Safety and other Controls team members to ensure that plant priorities are met.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Controls department and take a pro-active approach contributing to the meetings from an engineering perspective
  • Attend training to develop relevant self-knowledge and technical skills
  • To support the local sites manufacturing process by being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults
