Position Title: Senior Data Analyst Revenue Management Optimization (LSC)

Position Summary

The Senior Data Analyst, Revenue Management (RM) Optimization plays a key role in shaping and driving JetBlue’s RM systems, strategy, and best practices. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying and implementing revenue accretive solutions using JetBlue’s extensive data ecosystem and relevant technologies, with a particular focus on the Revenue Management System.


The Senior Data Analyst will function as a primary RM system owner tasked with developing and maintaining key system parameters, inputs, and business rules. The Senior Data Analyst will drive continuous improvement to the system by acting as a primary point of contact and development partner with the system provider; the Senior Data Analyst will be in direct contact with the system provider to report bugs, recommend enhancements, and validate new features. As a resident Revenue Management data leader, the Senior Data Analyst will be fully versed in JetBlue’s technology ecosystem and will set the department standard in wrangling large data sets from multiple domains to provide business insights. The Senior Data Analyst will also employ data science techniques such as clustering algorithms and regressions to fully leverage JetBlue’s data ecosystem and drive highly sophisticated and impactful analyses. Finally, the Senior Data Analyst will leverage reporting and data visualization best practices to communicate their findings to a range of audiences across the enterprise.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead analysis and create models to make robust recommendations and defined processes around the RM system that maximize flight demand forecast accuracy
  • Produce insightful tools and reports in Excel and Tableau, leveraging forecasting, market intelligence, and commercial data to drive clear decision-making and strategic direction for system improvement
  • Liaise with Business Partners for technical assistance and provide support to system users
  • Develop training and best practice processes for system users
  • Effectively communicate models and analytical outputs with partners
  • Build a sense of trust and partnership across the Revenue Management organization to create a productive workplace while taking ownership of duties in a fast-paced team environment
  • Provide leadership and mentorship for analysts across Revenue Management teams
  • Partner with the IT Data Engineering and Data Science teams to develop and leverage enhancements to JetBlue’s data sources
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline; OR a demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • Two (3) years of quantitative analysis and analytical modeling experience
  • Proficiency in R, Python, SQL or other programming languages
  • Proficiency using R or Python for data visualization
  • Full proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in Tableau or similar business intelligence tools
  • Experience using Snowflake or similar relational databases for data mining
  • Experience building and designing production ETLs or similar data pipelines
  • Working knowledge of common supervised and unsupervised data science and statistical techniques including cluster analysis, linear regression, and logistic regression
  • Data curiosity and motivation to develop data-driven solutions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Business, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline
  • Three (3) years Revenue Management or Operations Research experience (airline industry preferred)
  • Proficiency using Git or similar version control tools
  • Proficiency using scikit-learn, Tidymodels, or similar Machine Learning frameworks
  • Experience using Azure Databricks for ML development and deployment
  • Experience using R Shiny, Streamlit, or similar UI frameworks

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
