As an experienced data engineer, you will use your deep expertise in database and application development to develop and maintain Gallup’s data platform. This includes developing, enhancing and maintaining applications using AWS cloud technologies like Aurora and Dynamo, along with other specialized databases.

You will have the opportunity to work with advanced data warehouse technologies like Snowflake and help write data services in Python and modern Java. We will depend on your futuristic thinking to mitigate issues before they occur, and we will look to you to test, debug and troubleshoot challenges and document resolution steps.

We offer remote work opportunities for qualified senior database developer candidates. You will have the flexibility to work remotely within a 250-mile radius of Omaha, Nebraska. Occasional travel to team meetings or company-related events may be required.

What you need:

• At least five years of professional programming experience writing performant stored procedures/functions/SQL statements required
• At least two years of working experience in Python and modern Java (preferably Java 8 or above) required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, MIS or a related field required
• Experience in data modeling preferred
• Experience in Oracle, MySQL or any other relational databases preferred
• Experience working in data warehousing preferred
• Experience writing RESTful architectures preferred
• To live within a 250-mile radius of Omaha, Nebraska, preferred
