Organization Overview:

We are continuing to build and develop our Lilly USA employer engagement capability as this customer will be increasingly critical for our potential obesity portfolio. Lilly ongoing research, including our efforts in obesity, presents one of the most exciting opportunities in the history of the company. There is currently a significant, growing, and intense unmet need across all key players.

Employee benefits functions at employers do not make decisions in a silo. There are several stakeholders they depend on for information and guidance to establish their offerings. Benefits consultants are a key stakeholder, and work as a trusted advisor to many benefits teams. Lilly is seeking a Consultant Relations liaison to help support the commercialization of Lilly’s product portfolio, including potential obesity or metabolic products or indications.. In this role, you will be joining Lilly at an exciting time as we expand our commercial presence, launch new assets, as well as develop strategic relationships with large self-funded employers. This role is intended to help pharmacy and employee consultants with the resources they need to articulate Lilly’s value proposition and inform their self-funded employer clients.

You will work to establish Lilly as a trusted source of information to empower consultants to advise their employer clients to sustain a healthy, productive workforce and managed growing healthcare costs. The key objectives are to improve employee access to medication, minimize employee out of pocket costs, improve employee health outcomes, and build employer facing capabilities that result in a positive business impact.

Reporting within the Lilly Value and Access organization, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing customer relationships with pharmacy and benefits consulting firms who have large self-funded clients. You will develop expert knowledge of Lilly’s portfolio and use this along with your knowledge of employer benefit design and requirements to provide relevant information and resources for this customer segment through innovative programs and offerings focused on large national employers.

To be successful, you must thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and excel at developing high-level customer relationships with the pharmacy and benefit consultants. Account assignments are subject to change over time as business dynamics dictate and/or business priorities change.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic account plans that will enhance customer relationships. Know how to access all resources available to develop knowledge and drive business results.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Lilly’s and s LVA’s vision, mission, business strategies/goals, products, processes and compliance requirements.

  • Engage and network with key decision makers and influencers to identify and address specific needs and aligned opportunities.

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of broad healthcare and competitive business trends, regulatory and legal requirements and their impact on customers.

  • Understand benefits consultants, brokerages, how they engage with their customers, and what they value.

  • Collaborate across internal stakeholders and functions to meet mutual business goals and objectives

  • Strategize with Lilly stakeholders to prioritize customer opportunities. Build enduring relationships with a broad range of stakeholders aligned with the current and future portfolio – bringing Lilly to the customer and the customer to Lilly.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with consultants to attain near-term and ensure long-term success.

  • Be single point of contact for pharmacy and employee benefits consultants and other benefits influencers.

  • Work closely with contacts at consulting firms to collect and address feedback

  • Work collaboratively, across internal teams and within external channels to establish & execute tactical initiatives reflected in dedicated business plans, which align with the business unit objectives.

  • Develop and maintain contacts within the industry

  • Anticipate market dynamics and analyze market data to proactively identify and address channel and customer-level opportunities and risks that could significantly impact business initiatives.

  • Responsible for cultivating a close relationship with cross functional internal colleagues to implement market access and brand specific strategies and tactics

  • Collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of overall brand strategy, leveraging your ability to obtain real time customer insights & market trends.

  • Represent Lilly at coalition, HR, and customer meetings.

  • Collaborate with appropriate Lilly business teams, marketing, and medical affairs to ensure alignment and full utilization of resources at account level.

Minimum Qualifications

. Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Employer Benefits in Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Healthcare Industry

. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Preferences:

  • Advanced Degree or Certifications (PharmD or CEBS or equivalent experience)

  • demonstrated account management experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in employer benefits and understanding of the decision making process

  • Understanding of relationships between consultants and benefits decision makers

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with or within the employer benefit space including plan design, and business coalitions

  • Prior experience in metabolic diseases, with knowledge of product reimbursement is highly preferred

  • Experience working with large US benefits consulting firms and benefits decision makers

  • Demonstrated prior experience with establishing and consistently meeting or exceeding business development targets

  • Ability to move between business responsibilities and account management seamlessly

  • Demonstrated track record successful account management and being a trusted source of information for with large employer accounts

  • Strong portfolio of commercial skills obtained through experience and application with track record of delivery within commercial teams.

  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment that is being defined in real-time. You should be driven and willing to think creatively and pursue new or novel approaches to business and market development. The fast-moving market will require a high degree of adaptability and trust building with key accounts

  • Experience leveraging relationships, data and digital enablement tools to drive differentiation

  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated sales and strategic planning skills

Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $138,750-$203,500 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
