Our Ardboyne Hotel is currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic, experienced and motivated full time Senior Duty Manager to join our professional team. If you would like to be part of a team within a busy and varied environment, this could be the role for you.
Purpose of Job: Overall responsibility for the day to day operations of the Hotel, to include carrying out the role of Duty Manager.
General Duties:
- To assist the General Manager with the overall planning, organising and control of all departments within the Hotel, keeping him/her informed daily of any issues / incidents.
- Attend weekly HOD Meetings and follow up on any outstanding issues from week to week.
- Effectively communicate with all Managers, Supervisors and Senior Staff on a daily basis to ensure smooth running of each department and to communicate any issues relating to them. Check the Duty Managers Diary daily and follow up on comments.
- Manage the porter department, ensuring room set ups are correct, provide training when needed to improve standards.
- Manage the House Keeping department, do a daily inspection of all rooms and in your absence ensure a senior person carries out this duty.
- Oversee the float management system, and ensure all procedures are followed. Any changes to procedures must be signed off by the General Manager prior to implementation. Do a safe count on each shift.
- Carry out weekly room spot checks to ensure standards of cleanliness are being maintained.
- Effectively delegate projects, tasks and responsibility to Heads of Departments, monitoring, checking and reverting to them with feedback.
- Carry out any reasonable requests by Senior Management
- Oversee all departmental Rosters, ensuring the roster reflects the business requirements at all times, managing payroll to ensure it is kept at sustainable levels e.g. quiet times send staff home
- Approve the Departmental rosters to include authorising any changes and ensure wage forecasts do not exceed budgeted hours, ensure all rosters are entered on Alkimii by Thursday for the following week.
- Oversee the running of all functions in particular weddings and any vip events, ensure the staff are trained to carry out service in an efficient, systematic and friendly manner. Issues must be dealt with promptly and no delays should occur when dealing with a guest query or complaint.
- Assist with wedding show rounds liaising closely with the Conference and Banqueting Manager to arrange appointments, covering this department is required to facilitate Holidays and days off, check emails and respond to emails at weekends and out of hours.
- Prior to going off duty, all handover completed, speak to the senior staff members and ensure they are fully briefed on their tasks for the shift ahead.
Experience:
- At least 1 year's experience in a similar role.
