Job Description Summary
Provide technical support for Operations and Production in a fast-paced aerospace product development and manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include responding to technical challenges, reverse engineering, dispositioning non-conforming product, improving product quality, launching new products, and increasing shop capacity. This will be done through process improvements, new equipment, and implementation of best practices.
This position must coordinate with other departments to assure that business and production requirements are met on time, with high quality, and at the lowest costs. This includes working from engineering design data, specifications, prototypes and/or change orders to determine equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacture to produce quality products within cost and specification guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the development and production of complex products.
- Support government solicitation proposal preparation, specifically technical data package and reverse engineering efforts.
- Responsible for shop floor documentation that controls product configuration, manufacturing, assembly and test processes.
- Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing improvements and overseeing successful implementation of those improvements into production.
- Work with Operations and Quality to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design.
- Support non-conforming material dispositions and RCCA investigations, as needed.
- Develop new process and equipment design to reduce cycle time and support capacity growth.
- Drive better business decisions through manufacturing process data and controls.
- Support Compliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals
- Driving LEAN manufacturing implementation
- Support Safe Workplace efforts.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related technical degree, or an Associate Degree in a technical field and 5 years of experience in production or engineering
- Broad experience across several engineering disciplines and product types (e.g. mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, etc.)
- Experience with reverse engineering products and dealing with ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve difficult problems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical CAD programs (e.g. Solidworks, AutoCAD, Eagle, etc.)
Desired Characteristics
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g. Aerospace, Automotive or Medical)
- Experience with government solicitations and proposal preparation
- Expertise in understanding and working off legacy Gov’t specifications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
