In our Engineering team at the Medtronic Mervue site, we focus on delivering on our Mission by providing our patients with best-in-class quality products and services while supporting the current and future needs of our business.
This role is based at the Mervue Operations which has responsibility for the manufacture of complex high-tech, high value capital equipment such as the Puritan Bennet 840 and 980 acute-care ventilators as well as other ventilator and Pulse Oximetry products.
Reporting to Manufacturing Site Director, you will lead a team in the delivery for Mervue Manufacturing Engineering Functional activities to ensure the achievement of business operational objectives. This Senior Manage role will be a member of the Site Leadership Team guiding the overall site strategy.

- Leadership of the Manufacturing Engineering team for the Mervue site including manufacturing engineering, test engineering and facilities.
- Plans, directs, and implements all aspects of Mervue Manufacturing Engineering team to realize business goals across the value Streams supported by Mervue Operations.
- Leverage Engineering knowledge to provide leadership and direction to improve overall product quality, Operational and Value-Stream efficiency.
- Ensure engineering and manufacturing best practices are deployed to drive efficiency.
- Provide leadership for capital operations projects, focusing on execution within time and capital constraints.
- Build technical competencies (infrastructure and resources) to meet the needs of the business.
- Work cross-functionally with other stakeholders including Operations, Quality & Regulatory, Supply Chain, and appropriate external teams to ensure business goals are realized.
- Working with stakeholders contribute to defining a strategic road map for key operational initiatives.
- Support Continuous Improvement transformation program and drive culture of everybody every day within manufacturing engineering.
- Support yield improvement, OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) zero loss, lead time reduction and cost savings.
- Create a work environment where team members are motivated and inspired to contribute to achievement of business objectives.
- Proactively build a collaborative culture focused on people engagement and development of talent.
- We are looking for a qualified person to Level 8 Degree in Engineering / Science or related discipline, Masters preferred and desirably with 10 years relevant direct engineering experience within a similar environment.
- This role necessitates broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas, and detailed functional and operational expertise.
- Strong leadership and people management skills and ability to create a winning high performing team.
- Proven ability to create an environment to foster innovation among a technically strong and capable engineering team.
- Demonstrable ability to achieve goals through collaborating, influencing and interaction at all levels across the business/function to negotiate and gain cooperation on operational issues and internal divergent objectives.
- Demonstrate ability to generate break through ideas and creating an environment that support experimentation & responsible risk taking in achievement of same.
