Job Summary
Acts as highest point of technical escalation for classroom technical support. Installs AV systems in a variety of environments including, classrooms, conference rooms and/or event spaces across all KSU sites. Trains and mentor other AV specialists. Acts as a back-up to department leader.
Responsibilities
1. Acts as a back-up to the department leader
2. Installs and supports the audio-visual infrastructure for all university spaces, ensuring quality, stability, recoverability, and security
3. Trains and mentors other staff on the team
4. Acts as highest point of technical escalation for classroom technical support before escalating to engineers
5. Monitors tickets and takes needed action in a timely manner
6. Diagnoses and resolves problems and service tickets
7. Reviews active and completed work by other specialists to ensure proper troubleshooting steps are followed and effective resolutions are in place
8. Schedules knowledgebase article reviews for existing knowledgebase and documents and approves new articles
9. Coordinates chronic issue resolution and root-cause analysis with engineers and vendors
10. Responsible for executing inventory processes accurately and in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Four (4) years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in a field or call center environment preferred
Prior experience in an accredited institution of higher learning preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Able to install, support, diagnose and resolve enterprise audio-visual equipment systems
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of several of the following: enterprise audio visual switching, routing, multiplexers, control systems, display devices, scalers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, cameras, lighting controls, media players, ADA devices, power controllers, rack layout, related software, lecterns, and instructor workstations
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
