Due to the success and growth of our Environment and Planning Department based in Dublin, our portfolio of projects has increased significantly. We now wish to capitalise on this success and build on our ambition by expanding our Environmental and Planning Team.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant with at least 7 years post graduate consultancy/public sector experience to work within our growing Environmental and Planning Team on challenging and exciting infrastructure projects across various sectors (e.g., water services, renewables, aviation etc.). Exceptional and highly skilled candidates who meet the key criteria but with fewer than 7 years’ experience will also be considered for this role.

The successful candidate will report to our Environmental and Planning Lead and will play a key role in the expansion of our environmental and planning services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:

• Manage, coordinate, and prepare Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Appropriate Assessments, and other environmental reports.
• Manage, coordinate, and prepare licences, permits and annual environmental reports (e.g., EPA Waste Water Discharge Authorisations, Foreshore Consents & Dumping at Sea Permits).
• Provide technical input to environmental assessment projects, including data collection and analysis.
• Provide environmental advice to our in-house engineers and clients.
• Engage with clients and external stakeholders, as necessary.
• Manage and oversee projects run by the Environmental & Planning Team day-to-day, including fee proposal, invoicing, and delivering on client expectations.
• Manage sub-consultants and sub-contractors contributing to projects.
• Preparation of tender submissions and fee proposals.
• Contribute to the development of the Team’s competence and professional standards.
• Assist in developing and consolidating client relationships and networks and keep up-to-date with developments and innovations within the environmental and planning sectors.
• Oversee, guide, and manage junior team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for a Candidate with the following knowledge, experience, and attributes:

• A postgraduate degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related discipline.
• Have a proven track in managing and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments, Appropriate Assessments & Strategic Environmental Assessments (essential).
• Experience in managing and preparing licences, permits and annual environmental reports (desirable).
• Pragmatic knowledge of the application of environmental legislation, guidance, and standards.
• Good knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations.
• Exceptional organisational skills.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Be self-motivated, pragmatic and solution driven.
• Have a flexible approach with a willingness to actively participate as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
