Ascendo is working with one of the most well known and wanted companies in South Florida for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant!

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for preparing all SEC documents, preparing journal entries, tagging SEC documents, and performing special projects as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Complete and ensure timely, accurate and GAAP compliant preparation of all SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reports on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, Forms 8-K, proxy statements and other required SEC forms and filings.
• Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries such as eliminations of intercompany revenues and expenses, receivables and payable, and investment in subsidiaries; prepare additional entries as needed.
• Tag SEC documents in XBRL (extensive business reporting language) according to accounting standards.
• Perform special projects and ad hoc requests as required.
• Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.

Experience

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
• Skill in preparing financial statements.
• Extensive knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent financial analysis skills.
• 3+ years of related work experience with one to three years of consolidation experience.
• Public accounting experience preferred.

Preferred

• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow through skills.
• Ability to function in a fast paced work environment.
• CPA or CPA candidate.
• Prior experience with SEC reporting is preferred.
• Prior experience with Workiva is preferred.
