Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Sr. Integration Architect. The Sr. Integration Architect is responsible for designing and implementing complex technical solutions, including integration solutions between different systems and applications. They should have a deep understanding of software and hardware systems, integration patterns, protocols, and technologies.

The Sr. Integration Architect will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technical solutions that meet the organization's needs while ensuring seamless integration between different systems and applications. The position also involves managing cloud infrastructure, developing and deploying containerized applications, and working with DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and management of applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement integration solutions between different systems and applications. Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, data storage solutions, and data processing systems.
  • Develop and implement the software stack to support Innovation applications, including custom data pipelines, data sources, and new experimental microservices. Monitor and maintain the infrastructure and software stack to ensure optimal performance and address any issues. Develop and maintain the software stack that interfaces with the hardware, including the drivers, libraries, and frameworks.
  • Design and implement the hardware infrastructure, including configuring the hardware components, networking, and storage. Collaborate with hardware vendors and manufacturers to evaluate and select the appropriate hardware components, including CPUs, GPUs, TPUs, and other specialized processors. Optimize the performance of the hardware to ensure fast and efficient data processing and analysis
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software developers, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements of machine learning and big data applications and to develop solutions that meet those requirements. Ensure the infrastructure's scalability, availability, and reliability to meet the demands of machine learning and big data applications.
  • Ensuring the security and compliance of the infrastructure and data, including implementing security protocols, access controls, and data encryption.
  • Increase SW scalability, stability, and compliance, adding scale to the Innovation Architectural Team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Complexity:

  • One complex problem faced by this position when collaborating with the Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers is understanding the unique requirements of different machine learning algorithms and models and implementing the infrastructure to support them. Machine learning models may require specialized hardware, such as GPUs or TPUs, to achieve optimal performance, and the infrastructure must be designed to accommodate these requirements.
  • Another complex problem is ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable, available, and reliable to meet the demands of machine learning applications. This requires a deep understanding of the scaling and availability requirements of machine learning models and the ability to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet these requirements.

Areas of Expertise & Special Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of experience in Software Engineering, while leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and managing complex technical
  • Expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, and Scala required
  • Experience with distributed computing systems such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kubernetes required.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, networking, and security is required to ensure optimal performance and security of the infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills required.
