Job description
Daily duties include maintaining a quality, comfortable, and safe environment for students, faculty, and staff by utilizing knowledge and experience as a master mechanic qualified in all trades, providing timely response in support of the college mission. Provide administration of contracts that are in force at the campus, ensuring contractors comply with Federal, State, and College regulations and procedures through inspection and evaluation of contractors. Exercise independent judgment in applying prescribed policies, procedures and technical knowledge in these areas.
Duties and tasks:
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Ability to work from heights and ladders.
- Knowledge of building codes
- Ability to read technical documents including blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold weather for long periods of time.
- Able to participate in snow removal & other emergency duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license with insurable driving record.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience working with blueprints, diagrams, or sketches.
- Experience working in a commercial building setting.
- Experience with residential and commercial wiring.
- Experience in several trades, primarily electrical.
- Availability to work any shift required
- AAS Electrical Technology or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Prior experience in educational facility.
- Previous experience with a computerized maintenance management system
