Job Description Summary

Under the limited supervision of the Chief Ambulatory Officer, the Senior Manager of Ambulatory Strategic Operations is responsible for the management and leadership of multiple complex projects, strategic priorities and programs which have a significant impact upon MUSC Health Ambulatory Services. The Sr. Manager of Ambulatory Strategic Operations works independently and in collaboration with MUSC Leadership to support ongoing optimization of organizational performance and other key operational goals including but not limited to service excellence, patient access and growth, and productivity/financial metrics. Ensures high quality deliverables are completed in a timely manner and within outlined budget constraints. Demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate and influence team members.

Job Description

Education and Work Experience

MBA or MHA required. 5-7 years of experience in healthcare operations; finance; business development or project management. Management experience preferred. Strong understanding of business & financial principles/standards is required. Self- starter with excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills to collaborate with Ambulatory Services Leadership. Experience in project management; proven ability to lead teams, including building cross functional teams. Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and employees, both orally and in writing.

Degree of Supervision

Ability to manage time efficiently and be able to work with a limited degree of supervision.

Physical Requirements

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted. Lift from 36” to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
