Primary Purpose

The Senior Manager, HR Program Management report to the Senior Director, HRIS and is responsible for leading the alignment and development of cross-functional HR Projects and Programs across all HR Domains (HRIS, Reporting and Analytics, HR Operations, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development) and other departments like IT and Finance that have dependencies on HR teams to meet Bright Horizons vision goals, and objectives. This role requires a deep level of experience working with a waterfall methodology and can present/roll out best practices. In addition to the deep knowledge of Waterfall methodology, the Senior Manager, HR Program Management should have a basic understanding of Agile methodology and the complexities that arise when groups are working with different methodologies.


In addition to significant Program Management competency, the role will require a broad spectrum of knowledge of HR program and business processes and will demonstrate operational excellence in the planning and tactical execution of multiple projects.


Responsibilities include: capacity and resource planning, prioritization, enhancing methodology, creating estimating models for HRIS, Reporting & Analytics, and HRSC teams, ensuring execution and completion of projects on schedule and within budget, budget preparation, vendor management including RFP development.

Role will manage project management resources and other resources working on non-Workday applications like SmartSheet, SharePoint, Learning Management Systems.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Establish the Program Management Office (PMO) and define the strategy and methodology, build estimating models, staffing models, capacity models, templates for all project lifecycle stages, metrics to successfully deliver on schedule and on budget

  • Proactively manage day to day operations of the PMO and provide weekly status of all projects with details of schedule, risks, issues, budget, staffing, etc. to leadership

  • Manage team and take steps to mitigate risks and resolve issues and drive optimal performance

  • Plan and coordinate resources within the team for multiple projects and with other Center of Excellence teams (COE) and HRIS Lead for tasks including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, training, communication

  • Detail scope and estimate initiatives and ensure that initiatives meet cost, scope and timeline objectives and constraints

  • Manage vendors to ensure they meet their contractual obligations of the projects and adhere to service level agreements

  • Manage the program for continuous improvement and quality outcomes

  • Partner with the IT PMO to assure alignment and consistency when using different methodologies

  • Manage stakeholder expectations

  • Direct management of the Learning Management System and SharePoint resources with a focus on assigning work, monitoring outcomes, coaching, career pathing, and leading cross COE and vendor meetings.

  • Assist in budget preparation within the team and coordinate with other COE

  • Directly supervise 2 or more resources

  • May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree is required in Business, HR, IT, or related field

Experience

Experience as a Program manager with 7-10 years' experience managing and leading HR & HR Technology projects is required.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Related business experience that includes managing programs, strong analytical skills, organizational skills, follow-through skills, communication skills, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment across other functions including HR, Finance, IT

  • Hands on experience program management experience for Workday implementations and/or HR systems implementation are desirable

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), Agile Certification or similar project management certification is desirable

  • Knowledge of different program management software such as: MS Project, MS Visio or like tools

This role can be located out of our Newton, Mass office, hybrid or remote. The maximum this position will pay is $115K yearly. This role comes with a full benefits package including health, dental, 401K match and paid time off.
