Temple Street Hospital and Community Pediatrics Service (Split Role)

This integrated eye care service commenced in 2017 and now delivers award winning paediatric ophthalmology care to its patients. The service last year received a HSE award for excellence in innovation in service delivery. The service is linked with split site roles to Temple Street hospital.

The service is equipped to a high level with state of the art ophthalmic equipment including OCT and OCT angiography, Humphrey’s visual fields machine, IOL master and KOWA camera. It provides specialist eye care in the following areas:

Paediatric ophthalmology. This service is delivered through a combination of Combined Optometrist and Orthoptist Led (COOL) clinic, optometrist clinics, orthoptist review clinics, doctor clinics, and Additional Needs Clinics.

Temple Street – The split site role advertised will involve participating in clinics at a tertiary centre dealing with complex paediatric patients and strabismus surgery.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary will be dependent on experience (€58,599 – €68,998)
• Relocation Package.
• Full-time, Permanent.
• Monday – Friday.
• 35 hour working week.

Essential Requirements:

• B.Sc (Hons) Orthoptics

• A validated qualification to be registered as an Orthoptist with the Health & Care Professionals Council UK (HCPC)

• 3 years full-time post qualification clinical experience.
