What's the opportunity?
We are looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to join our growing Finance team! We are not your standard Finance team. We're highly quantitative individuals who love to turn data into insights and communicate our findings fearlessly, and we're looking for similarly minded individuals who are constantly curious and driven to understand our business better.
Reporting to our Senior Global Payroll Manager, this will be the primary role managing day to day payroll processes and ensuring that all Intercomardes are paid correctly and on time. As Intercom continues to grow, it's very important that our processes are efficient and scalable to support where the company goes. This role will have an opportunity to help shape and improve these processes in a fast changing and exciting environment.
What will I be doing?
- Responsible for preparing payroll input files and reconciling the international monthly payrolls in Ireland, United Kingdom, and Australia for 500+ employees
- Liaise with the international payroll providers to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll (Jefferson, Mazars, and Boardroom)
- Provide excellent employee experience as the first point of contact for all Intercomrade payroll inquiries in the non-US regions
- Collaborate closely with the People team, Finance teams, and external payroll partners to not only process payroll, but to also identify and improve payroll workflows
- Ability to run payroll audit reports out of Workday and work closely with payroll vendors on custom reporting on an as-needed basis
- Work with the Finance team on special projects or inquiries regarding payroll
- Work closely with payroll vendors to ensure accurate processing and timely submission of employee pension contributions (Irish Life and Aegon)
- Research payroll issues independently, demonstrating high analytical ability, knowledge of best practices, and an understanding of local tax and labor laws
What skills do I need?
- 5+ years of EMEA (IE, UK) payroll processing experience for small to midsize organizations, APAC payroll experience highly desirable
- Highly Proficient in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, and formulas)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or relevant experience
- CPP certification preferred
- Strong systems knowledge, including the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Problem solver, you like to prioritize tasks and get scrappy to resolve last minute issues that arise
- You're highly self-motivated, have a great work ethic, and can work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional partners.
- Comfortable and energized operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities and adapt to a fluid, high-growth environment
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal) and extremely high-level attention to detail
- Strong knowledge with Workday HCM and Absence modules
Bonus skills & attributes
- APAC (Australia specifically) payroll experience highly desirable
- Experience working in a fast-growing tech startup
- Experience working with payrolls in the US
- Experience with Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Benefit modules
