We are currently looking for a Senior Finance/Performance Analyst to serve as a key business partner for the Retail, Rental and Specialized Solutions teams within Zurich’s Direct Markets business unit, providing the insight, inspiration and financial discipline required to support delivery of strategic objectives and financial targets.

This Senior Finance/Performance Analyst will work with the Direct Markets Leadership Team to analyze the financial results as well as help prepare the financial plan and forecast. An aspect of the role is Scenario modeling and providing recommendations and solutions to enable effective decision making with the aim of maximizing the performance of the business unit.

This individual will work to provide financial reporting and data analytics on a regular basis requiring current, Intermediate experience in Excel and PowerPoint. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be an individual that is a skilled Finance professional with a keen understanding of P&L, good communicator (both written and verbal), critical thinker with an analytical mindset, able to handle highly confidential information, who requires minimal supervision and able to lead some activities on projects where needed.

NOTE: this position can be based out of one of three preferred offices: Overland Park, Schaumburg, or Omaha. Remote work may be an option.

This Finance Analyst will also:

  • Act as first point of contact for all strategic initiatives for a region/segment, provide financial analysis and modelling.
  • Lead the preparation of key messages, reporting and financial analysis to brief leadership teams on projected outcome of specific initiatives.
  • Lead the production of all regular benefit tracking for key initiatives within the relevant region/segment to ensure delivery of financial targets.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary for all group project reporting requirements and be a first point of contact for all queries relating to financial projections to ensure all project deliverables are met.
  • Submit Direct Markets plans and financial forecasts and variances utilizing the BPC Planning Tool
  • Execute the development of new reporting initiatives for the region/segment in order to provide additional, deeper insight on performance trends to facilitate enhanced decision making
  • Lead the production of profitability reporting on behalf of the region/segment, monitoring performance trends by product/ line of business to highlight any material under or over performances.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders including business leadership and local finance teams to create smooth channels for communicating issues that may be of a sensitive nature.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Project management experience
  • CPA, CPCU, CFA or CTP
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The Compensation provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. Other rewards may include short term incentive bonuses and merit increases. The starting salary range for the position is: $86,500.00 - $118,900.00.
