St. Vincent’s Private Hospital has a vacancy for a Senior Medical Physicist in its Radiotherapy department. The department is equipped with the complete suite of Elekta equipment , including two Versa HD linear accelerators (equipped with FFF) , Mosaiq R&V, and Monaco TPS. A dedicated CT simulator incorporating Vision RT surface guidance & respiratory-gating system is in full use. Treatments currently available in the department include HDR and LDR brachytherapy with conventional, IGRT, VMAT and stereotactic modalities delivered from the identically matched external beam systems. The department is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated Scientist who wishes to apply and develop their knowledge and gain valuable experience on the above modalities

Essential Criteria

The post holder must:

• Hold a first or second class Honours Degree in which Physics was taken as a major subject and Honours obtained in that subject or
• Hold a recognised qualification at least equivalent thereto.
• Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, for proper discharge of the duties of the post.
• Applicants must have a valid Irish working visa.
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Radiation Therapy Medical Physics.

Desirable Criteria

• Completion of a formal training scheme in Medical Physics
• Possession of a postgraduate qualification in a Scientific or Engineering Discipline
• Be registered or in the process of registration for Medical Physics Expert status.
