As a Senior Plumbing Engineer you'll have the unique opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution integrated project delivery work. The Senior Plumbing Engineer has a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of documents through all project phases, sizes, and levels of complexity. The Senior Plumbing Engineer possesses the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work
of others. The Senior Plumbing Engineer may work independently or at the direction of the Lead Engineer or Project Manager. The Sr. Plumbing Engineer has the ability to manage and direct design staff to meet client expectations and project goals. Furthermore, the Senior Plumbing Engineer shall be able to act as the Plumbing point-of-contact for clients, other disciplines, and pre-con services for their scope areas, be able to complete a complex project code analysis, plan and prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables (including details and specifcations), and understand the technical and design aspects of CRB’s market areas. Project sizes will vary (including both existing building improvements and new construction), but project-by-project responsibilities will be largely consistent. May act as Engineer-of-Record where appropriate.
How will I contribute?
You will act as the Plumbing point-of-contact for clients, other disciplines, and pre-con services for their scope areas. You will complete complex project code analysis, plan and prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables (including details and specs), and provide expertise in the technical and design aspects of CRB’s market areas. You will work on a variety of project sizes (including both existing building improvements and new construction) and may act as Engineer-of-Record where appropriate.
- Direct and manage the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectation and project goals.
- Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects with little oversight required
- Lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports
- Conduct quality checking of documents for intermediate complex projects, e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality required
- Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from Senior Engineer
Minimum Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Plumbing Engineering (alternatively, a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with Plumbing Option)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience required for Lead position, preferably in a design firm setting
- Professional Registration (Licensure))
Additional Qualifications
- Proficiency AutoCAD and Revit required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Proficiency in discipline specific software required
- LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited professional preferred
- Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing plumbing sanitary waste drainage, venting, storm water, service piping, specialty waste, and specialty service designs required
- Advanced experience with the Plumbing/mechanical/fire code, generically stated required
- Intermediate experience with other applicable industry standards required
- Intermediate experience with applicable building codes required
- Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting required
- Proficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination required
- Proficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers required
- Proficient at advanced plumbing fixture & drainage unit calculations, storm water, reclaim water design calculations with limited supervision required
- Proficient at intermediate specialty waste and service design calculations with limited supervision.
- Intermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with Plumbing systems
