Job Opportunity Description:

This role is suited for individuals with experience in clean room environments performing wafer-level fabrication processes. This position is on a team comprising scientists and engineers developing new material product formulations, new processing methods, and device makers fabricating new devices. This role will require hands on execution of clean room processing of material formulations, including coating, lithography, cure, metrology and analysis of wafer-level and panel-level material processing. These activities will support process window development, performance optimization, integration troubleshooting, and formulation development across multiple steps of semiconductor fabrication. The successful candidate will drive fabrication and characterization aspects of critical projects and assist in data analysis and interpretation/presentation of key results.

Responsibilities:

· Applications engineer specializing in wafer-level processing techniques, comfortable with exploring advanced/non-standard methods for unique applications. Adept at hands-on lab work, creative thinking, problem solving in a unique and fast-paced applications engineering laboratory environment

· Serve as technical contact point for project workflows based mainly in fabrication, such as laminations, coatings, lithography and cure techniques. Support additional prototyping applications development initiatives relevant to strategic goals as they arrive. Create, maintain, and leverage close relationships with internal and external metrology and analysis collaborators to drive characterization and performance data collection and analysis. Basic data analysis and statistics experience is expected. Clearly and concisely communicate research to team members of varying technical backgrounds. Maintain appropriate focus on personal and process safety, product integrity, and environmental stewardship

Skills/Capabilities Required:

· B.S. degree in engineering, material science or chemistry.

· Equivalent relevant industrial experience with clean room + wafer level processing methods & tools. Hands-on industrial experience in semiconductor fab environment. Familiarity with material characterization, wafer-level metrology and/or thin film analysis

Strongly preferred:

· Experience performing semiconductor industry lithography processes, including wafer spin-coating, lithographic patterning + developing.

· Expertise with a diverse range of analytical equipment:

· Chemical, mechanical, thermal analysis

· Basic materials characterization

· Inspection equipment (confocal microscopes, scanning electron microscopes)

· Applications testing for quality control and reliability testing for material process qualification and QC release

· Competency in problem solving and statistical DOE data analysis for optimization and quality control in support of customer qualification

· Hands-on experience in and enthusiasm for wafer-level or panel-level material formulation.

Qualifications:

Education:Minimum,B.S. degree in engineering, material science or chemistry.

Job Level Description:

Under minimal guidance, conducts applications testing, complex technical operations, and supports projects within a wide range of methodologies, supporting analysis to recommend experiments or alternative approaches.

Recognizes erroneous or unexpected results, interprets and analyzes results and identifies and communicates recommended changes based on their analysis and conclusions. Interprets and analyzes results, makes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow. Independently adapts new methodology to current projects.
