Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist
Reports to: Global Procurement Lead
Location: Drogheda, Ireland
The Senior Procurement Specialist will ensure effective management, control and development of the procurement of materials and services, negotiating cost reductions and implementation of contracts with suppliers. They will lead the coordination of cost reduction opportunities and improvements within the supply chain whilst reviewing best-in-class technology and alternative supply options. Defining the sourcing strategy to ensure continuity of supply materials to meet production and New Product Implementation (NPI) plans. This is a newly created role which reflects the rapid and global growth agenda of the organization which requires extensive experience and knowledge within the SAP HANA ERP system and process.
Role Deliverables:
- Procurement of direct and Indirect goods, and the associated contract negotiation and management
- Indirect procurement to include facilities management, marketing, transportation, and logistics/warehousing/3PL management
- Development and implementation of procurement strategies for all areas of business
- Implement supplier KPIs where necessary
- Commodity tracking for core raw materials, keeping business informed of trends and influencing ongoing contract negotiation.
- Procurement of materials required for ongoing production requirements and to meet sales and operations plans
- Expedite materials in “real-time” to support volume manufacture, setting up Kanban and innovative logistics/supply models
- Sourcing of materials to meet NPI requirements and ongoing projects.
- Member of the team to implement SAP Hana system
- Development of vendor relationships to ensure all deliverables; cost, quality, technical support, process control, logistics and the overall service levels are achieved, and ongoing improvements sustained
- Facilitate cost reduction activities to reduce overall bill of materials, 3rd party services and supplier costs
- Develop information regarding critical suppliers including capacity & forecast, ordering method and supply plans
- Drive improvements in supplier source for materials and co-ordination of qualification plans with engineering teams for approval of new suppliers and parts
- Investigate alternative processes, technology offerings and new suppliers internationally and benchmark with competitors
- Responsible for reporting the purchasing metrics to the business including cost, delivery on time, attrition levels, reject levels, payment terms etc
- Consolidate category spending where possible to achieve cost reductions
- Proactively review the marketplace for new products which might enhance or replace goods/supplies
- Preparation of cost forecast and budget information
- Compile risk assessment of materials and the supply chain and coordinate mitigation actions and improvements
- Ensure vendor business reviews are held regularly with critical suppliers and KPI’s reviewed along with the necessary improvement actions
- Produce monthly spend analysis reports
- Collaborate with internal Global stakeholders and suppliers to implement and manage efficient and effective supplier relationships.
- Identifies/defines sourcing best practices both within and outside the Organization and ensures those best practices are adopted.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing, and supplier management experience gained within a fast-moving manufacturing environment
- PAICS / CIPS / IIPM or other relevant body accredited (preferred)
- Demonstrable exposure to multi-geography supplier and vendor management processes and continuous improvement (specifically EMEA, US and APAC)
- Demonstrable experience in working with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Fluent PC skills including the full MS Office suite
- SAP HANA: ERP implementation experience and super user skills
- Demonstrate SAP Ariba experience and user skills
