Position Summary
The Senior Production Planner is responsible for all tactical planning and scheduling for the Chelmsford facility. The incumbent will be responsible for the creation of monthly MPS plans and work closely with the factory to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with the forecast.
Principal Responsibilities
- Creates monthly MPS based on forecasted requirements for all manufactured products
- Sets up weekly production schedules for each value-stream and measures execution performance
- Hosts weekly production meetings to review build plans, priorities, and constraints that risk service to customers
- Prepares backorder projections as required based on supply plans to management as required
- Hosts schedule reviews with value stream managers for alignment and input
- Leads the daily standup reviews for planning with supply chain management for KPI’s and problem solving
- Acts as the site owner for all planning activities and requests from internal customers including spare parts, engineering builds and other project work
- Reviews and approves engineering changes that impact Finished Good builds and IPN’s
- Updates weekly plant scorecard results and prepares Pareto charts for countermeasures and improvements.
- Monitors demand trends from the forecast; escalates major changes to demand planning for review during plan refresh
- Updates 13-week build plans as an input to supply/demand projection tools
- Reviews and provides input to Safety Stock on Finished Goods to ensure service levels
- Participates in other strategic project work as assigned and directed.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5-7 years’ experience in a production planning role
- SAP experience strongly preferred
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- ERP System experience, preferably SAP
- Excel Skills
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
