Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., (AHP) is seeking a Senior Program Associate for the California Hub and Spoke System (H&SS) project for which AHP serves as the Administrative Entity and supports with technical assistance and training. The overarching project purpose is to expand and improve the delivery of medication assisted treatment (MAT) services in an array of settings, including substance abuse treatment programs throughout the state of California. AHP's staff want to do more than just help programs run smoothly—they person have a desire to make a difference in the world and work on programs/projects that improve the health and welfare of people and communities. AHP's staff want their experience and talents to be used on programs that serve high-risk populations, help people struggling with substance use disorders and recovery, improve behavioral health services and systems, assist people with criminal justice involvement better their lives, and benefit other projects based on social determinants of health and other public health issues. As a Senior Program Associate, you will be an integral part of, and have a voice in, the programs/projects to which you are assigned. Your specific expertise will be fully utilized, and there is ample opportunity to learn new skills and expand your knowledge base.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of projects.
  • Manage small projects and tasks within large projects, including workplans, deliverables, and staffing.
  • Create standard operating procedures, monitors/evaluates project performance, and conduct quality control.
  • Manage subcontractors and consultants, including creation of statements of work and contract work.
  • Develop materials and complete project deliverables in relation to training and technical assistance activities.
  • Develop written and online materials (e.g., templates, reports, presentation slides, guidebooks, planning documents, email list announcements, website content, online surveys).
  • Conduct in-depth research, key informant interviews, and literature reviews to support assignments.
  • Create evaluation questions and data-gathering instruments.
  • Establish measurement-based practices to evaluate outcomes.
  • In partnership with key internal stakeholders, compile, summarize, and analyze data.
  • Carry out meeting, training, and technical assistance activities.
  • Plan meeting agenda and prepare supporting materials.
  • Facilitate and contribute to meetings.
  • Prepare formal notes of external meetings, clarifying commitments and follow-up action.
  • Prepare content of webinars (proposes topics, identifies speakers, writes learning objectives).
  • Develop curriculum and training materials and manuals.
  • Deliver online or onsite training and education (hosts/moderates webinars, serves as subject matter expert).
  • Provide guidance to speakers on content.
  • Develop pretests and satisfaction assessments to help determine the effectiveness of training sessions.
  • Promote new business.
  • Coauthor proposals and external communication material.
  • Contribute to strategic marketing plans and identifies opportunities to forge partnerships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in program development, or clinical work focused on substance use disorders, especially with individuals receiving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) .
  • Understanding of and commitment to providing technical assistance to behavioral health organizations that are interested in expanding access to MAT throughout the state of California.
  • Knowledge of social policy on health and human service topics.
  • Must have a background in substance abuse.
  • Organizational development and cross-system collaboration.
  • Ability to provide formal training.
  • Ability to provide in-person and virtual technical assistance to providers/client.

Education

Candidates for this position must possess a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree in social work, behavioral health, public health, or similar field is strongly preferred.

Salary Range

$ 73,000 to $ 103,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and location.

The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
