Adult Services

St. Michael’s House is a community-based voluntary organisation that provides day and residential services and other supports to over 1,100 adults with intellectual disabilities and their families in the greater Dublin area.

Psychologists in our Adult services work in multi-disciplinary teams to support our service-users, their families and frontline staff. The Psychology department is a dynamic group of mainly clinical psychologists with a variety of specialisms in the intellectual disability field. We provide supportive supervision, encourage research and service evaluation, maintain strong links with University training courses and value continuing professional development.

A Vacancy exists for 1 Full Time, Permanent Post for a Senior Psychologist in Adult Services.

Applicants must have:

• A post-graduate qualification in Clinical or Counselling psychology that meets the requirements of the Psychological Society of Ireland or an equivalent qualification that is validated by the Department of Health for employment as a Psychologist in the Irish Health Service.
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience working as a Basic/Staff Grade Psychologist with adults who have intellectual disabilities.
• Experience providing psychological support to individuals with intellectual disabilities who present with other challenges e.g., mental health difficulties, ASD, Dementia, behaviours of concern.
• Full driving licence and the use of a car.
