Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Process Knowledge:
o Understands key business drivers, uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
o Has training in basic lean tools and concepts.
o Some hands-on experience in mechanical &/or manufacturing, a thorough understanding of drawings, specifications, and standards,
o Familiarity with machined parts and their manufacturing processes, and a background of quality system improvement.
o Experience working in a higher-level QMS (ISO 9000, QS 9000, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new Team Members and will lead small projects.
  • Trained in the use of voice of the customer information. Applies problem-solving tools to solve problems in a straightforward situation; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and data.
  • Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies.
  • Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • An experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Ability to solve straightforward problems and has a rudimentary understanding of quality systems, statistical tools and procedures.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives using various Lean methodologies and principles.
  • Works on new product development projects, supplier improvement efforts, &/or customer/product issues of moderate scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Demonstrates a limited understanding of general business principles. Has little or no directly relevant business management experience and basic knowledge on the impact of Cost of Quality.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering) or equivalent experience. 5+ years related experience and/or training.
  • Basic understanding and familiarity of quality tools experience (PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, process capability analysis, MDR, CAPA, Audits, etc.).
  • Basic understanding and familiarity of Problem-Solving Tools proficient (5-Why, Ishikawa (Fishbone), A3, 8D, Logic Tree, Fault Tree Analysis)
  • Basic understanding and familiarity of Lean Concepts (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Time Studies, PDCA, DMAIC)
  • Experience working in a higher-level QMS (ISO 9000, QS 9000, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • CQE, Green Belt certification or equivalent experience
