What you will do:
Works independently with project teams, technicians, engineers, and scientists in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.
- Apply engineering statistics software (i.e., DOE) to characterize processes.
- Analyze data, calculate statistics, and provide input to product test reports.
- Act as a technical leader and lead cross functional training for new processes, materials, test methods and prototypes.
- Assist engineers in developing work instructions and assist in validating new processes.
- Become experts on use of complex test equipment, train staff on its operations, and confirm required calibration or preventative maintenance.
- Actively participate in project team meetings as requested. Coordinate and monitor project task execution and project progress against deliverables.
- Identify additional or new vendors to identify and acquire necessary supplies, materials, equipment, and tools for specific projects.
- Build quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Use sound technical judgement in making independent decisions.
- Ensure product is tested to the most current/validated method/process and specification and documentation is correctly completed per GLP & QS requirements as applicable.
- Create preliminary engineering drawings and create engineering documentation following established procedures. Develop and/or verify specifications.
- Contribute original concepts to the development of advanced prototypes and fixtures.
- Work with Process Engineers in the design, development, documentation, prototyping, testing, validation and implementation of manufacturing processes for neurovascular medical devices.
- Support Process Development Engineers in the development of new manufacturing processes.
- Create methods to evaluate product performance relative to engineering specifications.
- Develop equipment and processes in support of new or updated manufacturing needs.
- Support documentation updates such as Technical Notes, Drawings and Operator Instructions.
What you need:
- Two-year Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate) and/or equivalent experience.
- Requires a minimum 3 years of technical work experience in medical device development.
- Experience providing preliminary equipment and prototype drawings and specifications.
- Bench fixturing / tooling design experience.
- Experience working with external vendors.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
