Senior Site Engineer

Our Client have a requirement for a Senior Site Engineer to join their team working on a Residential project in North West Dublin, due to continues success and growth. The Role

• Detailed knowledge of setting out procedures and engineering principles.
• Competent in the use of instruments for purposes of setting out and gathering information, to include total station, laser level, automatic level, pipe laser and GPS.
• Organise the engineering department and to ensure the timely availability of construction information for all departments.
• Achieve milestone dates.
• Consolidate a reputation for innovative engineering, technical expertise and professionalism
• Achieve zero defects in company works and that of subcontractors
• Champion the culture of continual improvement particularly with regard to safety, quality and best practice
• Supervise work sequencing to expedite project delivery.
• Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of design and/or construction. Liaise with design team as necessary.
• Co-ordinate, direct and manage sub-contractors and suppliers as required by the project programme.
• Participates in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for major construction projects; provides conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, and may coordinate the production of basic design plans and construction documents.
• Application of engineering principles in the preparation of calculations/drawings/sketches and resolution of engineering challenges within specific knowledge areas
• Implementing engineering systems, documentation and controls by compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Company and industry standards
• Monitor subcontracts and supplies.
• Direct and supervise planning and construction activities on site
• Have in-depth knowledge and understanding of various engineering disciplines including planning, QS, QA/QC, materials, plant and equipment, sub structure, superstructure, and temporary works.
• To promote forward thinking and strive for engineering excellence.
• Motivate train and retain the best engineering staff
• Create a working environment that recognises and develops engineering talent
• Create a challenging and harmonious working atmosphere.
• Set SMART objectives for self and for the construction team
• Maintain a professional image for the company in all dealings with public and stakeholders
• Other ad hoc duties that the Company may require from time to time

The Candidate

• Degree/Higher Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
• Significant construction experience
• Background in housing developments essential
• Experienced of managing multiple residential contracts
• Knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards
• Strong commercial acumen
• Agile and able to adapt behavior according to the situation at hand
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks/projects
• Accuracy, attention to detail and a methodical nature
