Senior Software Engineer (UI/UX Focused)

At ControlSoft, we produce high quality software that has tangible implications on the execution of real-world machinery and processes. Our software allows autonomous aqua drones to navigate the seas, robots to assemble complex products, pharmaceuticals to produce life-changing medicines and so much more. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineerwith a strong focus on the development of user-interfaces to join our growing team based in Dundalk, Co. Louth. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will utilize your knowledge of and experience with software engineering principles and practices to produce market differentiating products and services that bridge the gap between software engineering and automation engineering domains.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Support the business by developing new and existing products and services.

· Define, refine and document solutions design as part of an iterative methodology.

· Support the proactive identification of risks associated with systems designs and where possible, propose alternatives.

· Perform problem identification on existing solutions and prevent recurrence with root cause analysis.

· Make every reasonable effort to deliver upon assignments within agreed timeframe.

· Participate in code reviews and process improvement activities.

· Participate in knowledge sharing exercises.

· Support the successful execution of the Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) and the ISO9001 quality system.

· Support the development of your career in line with corporate strategies.

· Support junior engineers in the successful application of software principles and practices.

· Demonstrate flexibility in technologies, platforms and approaches used as part of solutions design.

Qualifications & Experience

· Level 8 Qualification (NFQ) or above in related field.

· 5+ years professional experience engineering solutions using object-oriented principles.

· A proven track record of delivering high-quality, responsive, user-interfaces to a wide range of device modalities.

· Strong knowledge of C#, using .NET 5+, .NET Standard and/or .NET Core.

· Strong knowledge of software design principles and engineering practices.

· Strong familiarity with all elements of the Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC).

Desired Skills

· Experience with Azure DevOps.

· Experience with Scrum, Scrumban or Kanban.

· Experience with Containers.

· Experience with the practical application of the Domain-Driven-Design architectural style.

· Experience with the practical application of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

· Familiarity with ActiveX development for the Windows CE platform.

· Familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal integration.

· Strong problem-solving skills.

Work schedule Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5.30pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to €80,000.00 per year
