Clemson University's Office of Insititutional Excellence is looking for a Senior Strategic Manager to fullfill the following duties:
- Clemson University seeks a Senior Strategic Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives in the Office of Institutional Excellence to facilitate the implementation of top institutional transformational strategic priorities.
- The incumbent will ensure alignment of the university's organization and Advancement strategic priorities.
- This leader will report to the Vice President and Executive Director for the Office of Institutional Excellence and will be expected to be a leader by influence across the Institution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Transformational Leadership:
Develop plans to achieve strategic goals through strong collaboration with Advancement and other external-facing university organizations. Coordinate cross-functional strategic initiative teams, and build a university-wide network of partners and collaborators to further strategic initiatives and Advancement¿s desired outcomes. Provide strategic leadership in the implementation of transformational programs. Develop, manage and execute against the University¿s strategic priorities, bridging the gap between ideation and implementation. Using acquired skills and prior experience, provide leadership, recommend direction, and give guidance to the Office of Institutional Excellence team as it relates to team building strategies and team organizational health strategies. Includes communication strategies for the work done by the Office of IE.
25% - Essential - Project Management to Drive Innovation:
Act as a Lead Program Manager in managing complex projects that drive strategic ideas to implementation. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across campus, extensively listen and learn about academic and administrative leaders¿ goals and priorities. Plan and facilitate meetings with stakeholders to monitor program status and goals, including developing agendas and conducting post-meeting follow-up activities. Oversee and coordinate multiple inter-related projects to maximize alignment between university strategic objectives and development goals. Guide the development and written articulation of critical priorities in collaboration with University partnerships. Work closely with colleagues to creatively express Clemson¿s campaign priorities to benefactors who will impact institutional transformation. Partner with the Communications & Marketing team to develop communications for strategic initiatives. Synthesize strategic initiatives to be used by leaders.
25% - Essential - Continuous Improvement:
Identify and lead cross-Divisional continuous improvement projects. Develop standard processes. Engage in the prioritization process and consult with leaders to make improvements. Organize various programs and activities to improve efficiencies. Direct research and trend analysis activities. Lead special study committees exploring program issues and advise management about appropriate course of action.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - Experience managing large projects of significant complexity and risk.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree
Work Experience - 10+ Years; Project Management experience, Higher education experience, Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with university faculty.
Certifications - Lean Certification or equivalent
