OVERVIEW:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. OIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.
The Office of Information Technology’s Radio Operations is seeking a Senior Technical Information System Support Specialist to join us as the States F.C.C. Frequency Coordinator/System Administrator, Land Mobile Radio P25 Trunked Networking system specialist while Maintaining Systems in our daily operation from an advanced technical perspective.
ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:
The Radio Services Team supports assigned State of Maine Agencies with Two-Way radio communications as well as maintains the MSCommNet P25 VHF Digital Trunked Radio System.
Work will involve frequent communications with users, the ability to collaborate in a team environment, and the opportunity to use excellent customer service skills. In this role, you will have the responsibilities for the Advanced Technical Services in our daily operations and the maintenance of the statewide radio system. Work is performed under limited supervision, and requires the ability to use critical thinking and sound judgment

You will be exposed to different communications platforms and experience the excitement of facing different challenges every day. This position is in Augusta. Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The primary responsibility will be the oversight and maintenance of hundreds of the State of Maine’s F.C.C. licenses. You will also be a member of a team providing LMR system support for several State of Maine agencies. You will be conducting analysis and working collaboratively in resolving issues, facilitating projects and more.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 8 years of a combination of related post-secondary education, technical certifications, or technology related work experience. Related training, internship experience etc. may be credited as related experience on a month-per-month basis
Preference will be given to individuals having experience with F.C.C. licensing rules, regulations and processes. Also, prior LMR Trunked networking experience.
