Job Summary:
Experienced technical writer position in a fast-paced software environment. The writer will be part of a multi-product team of writers responsible for creating end-user documentation in multiple formats, including online help, interactive help, videos, and online visuals that support technical concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Under the guidance of a team lead, create end-user documentation for Datto products, including online help articles, interactive help scripts, video scripts, flowcharts, and visuals supporting technical concepts.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Proficient in single-sourcing concepts, approaches, processes, and tools
- Work independently on projects of diverse scope
- Work on projects outside immediate scope of documentation work to advance technical writing processes and drive data-driven decision making
- Work with multiple ticketing systems to track issues, understand documentation requests, and update tickets
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of product lines and their documentation requirements
- Provide input to departmental style guides and policies
