Statkraft is Europe's largest generator of renewable energy from hydro, wind, and solar power. We are 4,800 employees in 19 countries across the globe. Our aim is to become a leading developer of in onshore & offshore wind and solar projects, taking on a significantly larger number of projects than before.

The business area for this role is responsible for development, ownership and operation and maintenance of onshore and offshore wind, solar and hydro assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft and the group procurement function.

We are now expanding in several European markets and need a Senior Wind Resource Analyst for our Wind & Site team to work on a variety of onshore and offshore projects. The role will predominantly work on our Irish offshore development portfolio.

As a Senior Wind Resource Analyst your main responsibilities will be:

• Perform as an expert in the area of wind resource analysis on new wind energy projects
• Responsible for designing and optimizing wind farm layouts and carry out energy yield assessments
• Cooperate with technical experts on the suitability of turbines for particular sites with regards to the meteorological site conditions
• Assist with analysis in due diligence and acquisition processes
• Develop and manage site specific measurement campaigns
• Follow up and contribute to the R&D activities the department is engaged in
• Procure consultancy services to support own analyses
• Verify, and if applicable, challenge the external consultants on their methodologies

• University-/ Master degree (or PhD) in meteorology, physics, aerodynamics or other relevant field
• Extensive experience in modeling and analyzing wind resources and site conditions for wind farm sites
• Experience with Windsim, WindPro, Wasp, FUGA or other wind energy modeling tools is required
• Experience with programming is an advantage
• Competence within mesoscale numerical simulation models such as WRF is an advantage
• Understanding of measurement techniques relevant for the wind energy industry
• Proactive and solution-oriented– a practical doer who delivers quality results on time
• Strong analytical, organisation and time management skills, with an energetic approach and a proven ability to work to deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
