This position supports the work of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio (“Y”), a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The ForeverWell Seniors Ambassador Greeter is responsible for greeting and routing ForeverWell Senior AOA members and visitors in a highly professional manner, organizing wellness activities and events, and leading social engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates with ForeverWell Seniors AOA Coordinators to enhance senior engagement.
- Assist and greets senior members and prospective members courteously.
- Meets and greets members and visitors in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the Y.
- Organizes senior wellness activities and events (potlucks, health and educational chats, social engagement events).
- Answers the Welcome Desk phone in a prompt and courteous manner as needed.
- Performs routine filing, copying packets and fliers, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Performs facility access control duties by checking members and program participants in as they enter the building.
- Controls the flow of checking equipment in and out.
- Keeps supplies and equipment organized, clean, and well-maintained.
- Adheres to the Y uniform policy, staff shirt, name badge and other appropriate attire.
- Maintains a clean and professional appearance and personable demeanor.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, 3 years of experience in a customer service role preferred.
- Experience in member and senior engagement preferred.
- Strong team player with superior customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience with the ability to thrive in a high-volume, professional work environment, while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated excellence in execution, attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to drive multiple streams of work simultaneously.
- Must be able to handle and mitigate conflict situations; that may include dealing
with unpleasant, angry, or impolite individuals.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in a fast-paced environment.
- Visual acuity is required for reading computer screens and/or documents and making changes as necessary/required.
- This position requires analytical abilities and multitasking in order to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Job requires accuracy and attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, while maintaining high levels of initiative in order to work within deadlines.
- Occasional stooping and bending with regular lifting of up to 20 pounds is required.
- Must be able to use keyboards, telephone keypads, and writing utensils.
- Uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
