Are YOU a Unicorn "A" tech?

"Are you a Unicorn A-tech? Congratulations! I am sure you know that every shop owner in town wants to hire you. My name is Sean O’Bryan and I own/operate O’Bryan Auto Repair in Parsons and Pittsburg, KS. Let me define MY definition of a Unicorn A-tech for you.

* You have experience working on America, Asian, Eurocars, at a large independent shop or the dealer, but are willing and able to work on all makes and models. In other words, you are not a Eurosnob.

*You can document producing 50 flat rate hours a week over time. Our shop pays 125% book time on all but a very few repairs, so the question actually becomes "Can you produce 40 hours a week at a regular shop". That's easy enough for a Unicorn, eh?

* You have a strong attendance record, work ethic, and you aren't an incredible pain in the ass for co-workers and management to deal with. You help build shop culture. You make the organization stronger with your presence.

Those are my Unicorn basics. Now, it's time for me to show you that O’Bryans knows how to properly care for and feed a Unicorn!

* 40 hour a week M-F work schedule in a shop where the A/C is so cold that the front counter people take breaks back in the shop on hot days.

* 100% company paid Unicorn Health Insurance! It's a really good plan that you can actually afford to use when you need it. It's upgradable to a zero deductible/co-pay Platinum level, if you desire.

* We bring in a masseuse for chair massage sessions to help keep you limber and relaxed! We can't have our Unicorns gimping around the shop, now can we?

* We feed you 2 meals a day. Or 3, if you grab something on your way out the door in the evening. Nobody is counting.... If you are on a roll, food to keep you going is always just a few steps away. Our Unicorns are always well fed.
