Laundry Attendant
Sheraton Portland Airport (PM Hotel Group)

The Sheraton at PDX (PM Hotels), the airport’s first luxury hotel, is seeking motivated individuals to join our amazing Laundry Team. As a Laundry Attendant at the Sheraton, you will have the unique opportunity to enhance our guest experience while developing your leadership skills and advancing your hospitality career.

• Shift: Flexible
• Hours: 8am to 4:30pm
• Pay: $18/hr

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Operate washing and drying equipment, and load and unload laundry from machines. Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.
• Inspect all linen to ensure it is hair/stain free.
• Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor.
• Ensure all linen that is old or torn is taken out of inventory and logged in discarded linen log.
• Ensure all linens are folded properly and kept as wrinkle free as possible.
• Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen.
• Clean up machines and surrounding areas.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Stock and organize linens in Laundry Room. Assist with deliveries to guest floors and housekeeping closet stocking.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Abilities

• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Communicate well with guests.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Working knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time. o Requires lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 75 lbs. o Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
