Summary
This position is responsible for carrying out the day to day operations of shipping and receiving products to customers and vendors under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. This position will stage and load shipments, record deliveries for inventory, and ensure accurate order fulfillment. This position is responsible for the daily cleanliness of the warehouse. Must be able to lift 50-75 LBS.
Qualifications and Skills
· High School Diploma or GED Required.
· 2-3 years shipping/receiving experience is preferred.
· Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
· Must have excellent organizational, team development and communication skills.
· Must be a detail-oriented, proactive driver of excellence.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as; shop procedures, work tickets, packing slips, and bill of ladings.
· General math skills required; add, subtract, multiply simple numbers and fractions.
· Must have hands on computer experience with shipping companies such as: UPS, FedEx, and LTL trucking lines.
· Must be able to verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
· Ability to prepare items for shipment by performing duties to quality and productivity standards.
· Ability to work independently with strong organizational and analytical skills is essential and required.
· Must be self-motivated, responsible, and able to complete assigned action items.
· Must have a positive can-do attitude and a willingness to problem solve and initiate action creatively.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports, spreadsheets and policy / procedure documents.
· Demonstrate attention to detail, time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within specified timeframes in order to meet customer needs.
· Must be able to measure to 1/32 of an inch using various measuring devices.
· All other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
· Ability to stand for long periods of time.
· Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to bend and twist safely and repetitively.
· Ability to wear all PPE required.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Accurately identify products by part number and description.
· Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
· Advanced knowledge of the individual products and applications.
· Schedules and coordinates both Domestic and International freight forwarder transactions.
· Prepares boxes with appropriate labels for shipment as required.
· Effectively completes cross-functional root cause and corrective action to resolve customer-related shipping issues.
- Must be open to constructive feedback and have a desire to grow and develop with the organization
- Ability to organize, review, analyze and file paperwork which includes; sales orders, sales quotes, requisition forms, packing slips, bill of ladings, and international commercial invoices.
· Ability to accurately read and comprehend words and numbers without transposing or confusing numbers.
- Ability to schedule, plan, prioritize and set goals in connection with job duties.
- Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred.
- Adherence to current company safety programs and policies.
- Establish objectives, plans, and schedules for completion of established operational assignments.
- Work with carriers and production employees to arrange inbound and outbound shipments.
- Verifies all product measurements for accuracy and quality.
- Ability to perform quality inspections and report errors to Warehouse Supervisor.
- Processes Returned Material Authorization (RMA) shipments and documents tracking information.
- Ability to accurately complete checklists, reports, and logs.
- Ability to organize and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- All other duties as assigned
