In this position, you will collaborate with Admissions and Career Services at WSU and WSU Tech to source students through outreach – both in-person and virtual – at local and regional schools. Recruitment, mentoring, and coaching are all critical skills for success in this role.

Summary of Responsibilities:

This position serves as the connector of applied learning experiences between students, employers, faculty and the University. Works closely with cross functional teams to support enrollment goals. Provides assistance defining career options, developing employment skills, promoting job-searching strategies, professional coaching, providing performance management and skill gap analysis, training and sourcing.

Essential Functions:

  • Meets with and sources for student employment needs, for both internal and external partners.
  • Provides career development assistance and applied learning programming for students. Develops, maintains, and strengthens relationships between students, workplace supervisors and University staff/faculty related to career development and applied learning.
  • Provides expertise in a number of areas including, but not limited to, resume development and interviewing skills, co-op and internship opportunities, career readiness and decision-making, career counselor referrals, and job search techniques.
  • Promotes and coordinates activities and programs and presents professional development workshops, coordinates and participates in career outreach such as job fairs and differentiated programming.
  • Assists and coaches students with work adjustments problems. May coordinate with worksite supervisors and make worksite visits, as needed.
  • Coordinates with internal and external partners regarding continuous program improvement.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in in education, human resources, business, or related field
  • One (1) year of experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
