Job description

We are seeking a shop helper for a heavy steel fabrication in their rough fit area. This is a great opportunity with paid training!

PURPOSE: A rough fit shop helper cuts 20′ bars of steel to specified lengths, bevel part edges for weld prep and weld beveled flat bar to finished lengths. The daily expectation for this position is to assist the rough fit team in completing 1 full pass of the SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) gantry system in an hour.

Each pass with set up time included, takes an average of one hour. They are expected to help uphold the job completion dates the department lead agrees to in the weekly scheduling meeting and meet daily production requirements of the department, (1 pass/hour).

Job Requirements:

• Strong attendance
• Willing to work overtime
• Familiar with tape measure
• Able to operate forklift
• Able to lift 50 lbs. minimum
• Process a minimum of 8 full passes in an 8-hour day (1 pass/hour)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including THC

Day and Swing shift available!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
