Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated leader who will make a difference leading the Environmental systems while improving results. In this role you will provide Environmental leadership and support to the site via technical mastery and site-specific coaching. As a member of the site Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) team, the Environmental Leader will provide leadership for the facility's environmental performance and sustainability needs, including environmental footprint reduction, legal and regulatory compliance, environmental control systems operation and performance, external legal and regulatory relations, and sustainability project implementation. You will be a key partner with HS&E, engineering, and manufacturing resources in delivering new business initiatives meeting environmental and sustainability goals for the business.

As an Environmental Leader you will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading site environmental and sustainability priority development and alignment with internal and external business partners.
  • Developing HSE team and Operations environmental skills and capability and enabling application of that capability throughout the site.
  • Creating and implementing focused action plans with emphasis on environmental performance, legal and regulatory compliance, and site sustainability objectives.
  • Creating operations management systems to strengthen environmental control reliability and performance.
  • Evaluating capital projects for environmental and sustainability effects and participating in project design and delivery for improved results.
  • Leading external environmental agency relations, including permitting, legal, and regulatory interpretation, and external support of developing regulations.
  • Leading specific environmental and sustainability technology areas (Air Quality, Water Quality, etc.).
  • Lead the environmental change management review process for all new projects and initiatives at the site.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Ability to be located in Greensboro, NC and willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Environmental experience
  • Strong Leadership and writing skills
  • Ability to lead and implement an improvement across a broad/diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Able to work effectively with autonomy and lead groups to drive improvements
  • Able to influence plant leadership and direction, and lead work successfully with internal and external resources
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills -Ability to communicate action plans, strategies, and help requests to the right people with the appropriate sense of urgency to drive action with consultants, site leadership and external regulators.
  • Strong Technical Mastery - Basic knowledge of environmental systems and requirements including wastewater, air, storm water, spill protection and hazardous waste management. Ability to learn additional mastery skills across other HS&E disciplines and ability to coach others in your area of expertise.
  • Excellent attention to detail is required in many aspects of the role including interpreting environmental regulations and the implementation regulatory requirements.
  • Program Management - Knowledge or experience in regulatory program and compliance management, interpreting regulatory requirements, and developing solutions to meet those requirements.

  • Environmental Training - you will complete P&G environmental training and skill qualification as the site environmental leader. You will also complete hazardous material safe handling and transportation certifications (IMDG, IATA and DOT)
  • Purchasing stewardship – you will lead and manage the budget for recycling and hazardous management systems at the site
  • Work Schedule – you will primarily work Monday thru Friday with flexibility to support after hour and weekend coverage for emergencies if needed.

Starting Pay / Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At P&G compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total rewards at P&G include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits.
