St. Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON) is based across three sites – St. Luke’s Hospital Rathgar, St. Luke’s Radiation Oncology Centre at St. James’s Hospital and St. Luke’s Radiation Oncology Centre at Beaumont Hospital.

The Department of Nursing in St. Luke’s Hospital is committed to on-going education and training of nursing staff in this specialist area. Opportunities exist to undertake education programmes in areas associated with the care of the Radiation Oncology patient.

The team structure consists of CNMII, CNMI, Staff Nurses and HCA supported by ADON and DON. Medical Clinical supervision is on site at all times.

The purpose of the post to provide perioperative and postoperative care to Oncology patients.

Each candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed applications for the post:

• Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered

And

• Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

Note: Post holders must maintain annual registration with Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character

Age

Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age.

Post Specific Requirements

• General surgical experience is desirable.
• Training and orientation will be provided specific to Radiotherapy.
