The Software QA Manager leads the development, implementation and maintenance of Software Quality and Automation program for the Emerson RTMS (Real Time Modeling System). You will be required to manage all aspects of software and product testing within the Emerson RTMS team. This may include developing testing strategies that include conceptualization and development of the testing approaches (Manual vs. Automated), writing and maintaining test scripts and documents, perform analytics and produce actionable QA reports.

To be successful, you will learn Emerson’s Real-Time Modeling System simulation and scheduling platform and its integration with other Emerson Engineering systems like Delta-V. We are looking for someone who has been in the hands-on role recently and is now ready to take a leadership role and build a high performing QA team. QA and Testing role working across all parts of the platform to ensure that Software testing process finds performance issues, bugs and quality issues before customers discovers them. We need an individual who can switch gears and jump between platforms as well as tasks to meet the testing for product releases, bugs, and feature priorities. This role interacts closely with our product development and professional services team. Additional responsibilities include testing new features/enhancements, participating in architecture sessions with our senior engineers, and creating testing documentation for the software.

AS A SOFTWARE QA MANAGER, YOU WILL:

• Lead a team and be part of holistic QA and testing culture
• Come up with a software quality roadmap by using best practices and soliciting fresh ideas from all areas of the RTMS team
• Coordinate & prioritize the software testing activities, monitor, and report progress of the QA activities. Manage the software testing metrics
• Use industry standards and best practices for the QA and testing and be ready to try new concepts and ideas to ensure highest quality software delivery
• Meet with Product and Software development team to determine the scope of the QA and testing needed for various software architectural components (Web Server, Desktop, Database, Integration layer)
• Lead the design and development of QA test process and holistic approach to testing
• Take the design and development to the next stage by implementing what you designed and adhere compliance
• Learn the software that you will QA and help troubleshoot quality issues and modify the processes when needed
• Work with professional services and development team to understand client issues and continually seek to improve the internal QA processes
• Foster culture of innovation and disciplined software testing practices to deliver business value

Required Skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
• Knowledge of Databases like MSSQL/Oracle and Development Stack like .NET, C#, VB.NET, Visual Studio, and Software Unit Testing
• Work experience on a packaged revenue generating product/software; be able to be hands-on and willing to learn new technologies to meet the needs of the organization
• 10+ years in QA and testing industry experience
• People management experience including ability to lead and work in cross functional teams; high level analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in software design patterns and how to effectively apply them; proficiency in design systems for computing intensive solutions
• Detail-oriented and committed to quality; excellent communication skills and strong time management

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Experience with Manufacturing Engineering Systems (MES) in a Life Sciences environment
• Experience with QA testing in Azure and other cloud technologies
• Knowledge of automated testing tools like Selenium, HP Performance center and others Knowledge of any of the components of the Development Stack IIS, WebComponents, NodeJs, GO
