Job description

The award winning employment team at ByrneWallace, which is consistently recognised as a leader in employment law, is seeking experienced Solicitors/Associates.

The successful candidates will have a minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law practice. Amongst previous experience would include a mix of advisory, litigation and potentially corporate support.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Client Service

  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients – has a good understanding of clients’ needs and an ability to meet their demands.
  • Driven to provide a highly professional quality service at all times - consistently delivering to clients clear and concise advice, and a high level of service, that meets the client’s business needs and their expectations of a Solicitor.
  • Motivated and solutions focused and results orientated.

Business Acumen

  • Through the generation of fees demonstrates an ability to make a contribution to the overall income of the Firm.
  • Conducts work in a commercially efficient and profitable manner.
  • Manages clients on fees – provides client with information regarding retainers, estimates, timely billing and fee collection.

Legal Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong advocacy experience and excellent technical knowledge of current employment legislation and case law

Risk Management

  • Maintain awareness of your role in managing professional risk issues.
  • Comply with all of the Firm's policies & procedures; attend risk briefings & support Firm-wide risk management initiatives.
  • Adhere to the file review and closure process and ensure all open and in-active matters are reviewed and closed as appropriate.
  • Support the implementation of the Firm's LEXCEL System.

Firm involvement

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the Firm’s goals, its ethos and culture.
  • Participates in events to assist and promote the profile of the Firm.

Information Security

Support implementation of the Firms Information Security Management and comply with the Firms Information Security Statement


  • Adhere to data classifications and handling rules
  • Report Breach of Policy, Incident or Security Weakness
  • Comply with the ISMS-04 User’s Information Security Policy Statements
