The Solutions Engineer is an important part of the DataBank team, responsible for working with the sales team to provide technical insight during the sales process. The Solutions Engineer will be working directly with customers either with a Account Executives and/or independently during the pre-sales process, working with the DataBank engineering team to insure proper solution design, and working with the DataBank provisioning team during customer on-boarding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to existing and potential customers.
• Deliver guided data center tours highlighting and discussing technical aspects of data center design.
• Gather technical requirements from potential customers.
• Prepare technical proposals for Colocation, Cloud and Managed Services solutions.
• Articulate the benefits of potential solution and compare with competition if needed.
• Work with sales team on RFP responses and proposal preparation.
• Train sales team on new products and product updates.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in Pre-sales, Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering or Systems Engineering role
• Proficiency in MS work, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio
• Working knowledge in the majority of the following area: data center design (power, cooling, connectivity), data center environments (rack layout, rack power design, cross-connects, etc.), LAN/WAN networking (routers, switches, load balancers), Network security (firewalls, DDoS mitigation, IDS/IPS, log management, web application firewall), Storage (SAN, NAS, DAS, etc), backup systems, x86 server hardware, server operating systems (Windows & Linux), MS SQL, MS Exchange, Virtualization (VMware), Cloud, Compliance (PCI-DSS, SSAE16, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.).
• Ability to compare and contrast potential solutions with focus on differentiating DataBank solutions.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Detail oriented with strong interpersonal & presentation skills
• Term player with ability to quickly establish strong working relationships with peers and customers.
